therapy for teens.
Providing individual counseling for youth ages 13-18
therapy will support teens in:
⟡ Learning how to stop “picking up” the
feelings of others, because it’s not
their stuff to pick up.
⟡ Understanding how the cycle “omg I
have to make this perfect” leads to
anxiety which leads to breakdown.
⟡ Learning that pleasing the entire
world is impossible.
⟡ Actively utilizing mindfulness
and other coping strategies to
support strong emotions
⟡ Leaning in to uncomfortable
emotions as a way of connecting with
what they really need
⟡ Process feelings of grief, loss, or
trauma which are impacting school,
relationships, and self esteem.

our approach.
COLLABORATIVE
centering the voice of the client as the expert on their lives and lived experience.
working with stakeholders (parents, educators, other providers) to support individual therapy
TRAUMA INFORMED
a whole-brain approach based on the understanding that trauma, chronic stress, grief and institutional oppression impact our brain, body, as well as our perception of ourselves and others.
NON PATHOLOGIZING
a lense that views teens as whole and complete, but recognizes that we all have protective “parts” which can shape our thoughts, feelings and behavior.
SOMATIC
meaning “of the body,” somatic techniques focus on how the body holds emotions & experiences and incorporates techniques to process that which feels “stuck” in the physical body.

We value the investment in the therapeutic relationship and believe that finding a therapist that is the right fit for you or your child is important.
With this in mind, we offer free 20 minute consultation calls to make sure you feel good about moving forward.
Schedule a consultation call by hitting the "Contact" button, sending us an email or leaving us a voicemail. -
The first session we schedule for youth under 18 is with a parent. This 90 minute session allows us a chance to gather helpful and necessary background information.
It is also our belief that this session also supports with building a framework of collaboration in which the therapist, teen and parents are all working together. -
After the parent session, teens will be scheduled for weekly sessions with their therapist.
To support the building of the therapeutic rapport and to get the ball rolling, we suggest a regular cadence of weekly sessions.
